General information

The conference is dedicated to the memory of the Chief Geologist of Siberia, Academician Andrei Alekseevich Trofimuk - the discoverer of three large oil and gas provinces: the Volga-Ural, West Siberian and East Siberian. Hydrocarbon resources of which serve as a reliable shield in the system of Russian economic security.

The Institute of Geology and Geophysics (IGG) of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences was created on the initiative of Andrey A. Trofimuk in 1957. From the moment of its foundation the chronicle of the Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics (INGG SB RAS) has been kept.

The conference “Trofimuk Readings” is well known in the largest scientific and industrial organizations of Russia. This event invariably arouses interest among the scientific youth. In recent years, the conference has gathered more than 100 speakers. Among them are geologists from the CIS countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus). Young specialists of leading petroleum production companies of Russia, such as Rosneft, Gazprom, Surgutneftegaz, Tatneft, Bashneft and others actively participate in the conference. The conference “Trofimuk Readings” is distinguished by a high scientific level of reports, what is emphasized both by the participants  and  the section chairmen.

For the first time the youth conference "Trofimukovsky Readings" was held in 2006. Over the following years, the number of participants and their geography increased many times. This year, some people are going to come already 4-5 times. It can be argued that the youth scientific conference "Trofimuk reading" over the years has worked well and today is an excellent platform for sharing the latest scientific results.

Conference participants: young scientists and specialists under the age of 35, students, graduate and post graduate students.

During the conference, workshops from leading scientists of fundamental and applied research are planned.

At the conference oral and poster presentations will be presented.
Time of the oral report is 15-20 minutes, including answers to questions. A computer, multimedia projector is provided for the demonstration of the material.
